The Beginning: A Personal Mission

PublicChannel started when Sarah Mitchell, a certified wellness instructor from Timaru, noticed something troubling. Too many people in her community were struggling with stress and tension, but traditional relaxation methods weren't reaching them effectively.

After years of working in clinical settings, Sarah realized that people needed practical, accessible guidance they could use at home. She launched PublicChannel from her small studio on Marchwiel Street with a simple belief: everyone deserves to feel genuinely relaxed.

  • First 50 community members joined our initial workshops

Growth Through Challenge

The global disruptions of 2020-2021 actually strengthened our mission. When people couldn't access traditional wellness services, they turned to our home-based relaxation techniques more than ever.

We quickly adapted our in-person workshops to comprehensive online programs while maintaining the personal touch that made us different. This period taught us that genuine wellness education transcends physical boundaries.
